The cats were for girls & the dogs for boys. Started in 2005, the first Christmas puppy was adorable, but I was not thrilled with the rest. Unfortunately little Josh was born in 2005 so this was the series he was stuck with. Well, they disappeared completely this year. Last year the introduced only the first for the new series. I SOOOO LOVE the new ones, but this is the fourth Christmas for little Josh. So he's the rub that I would like opinions on: Should I only buy 4 & 5 of the new ones. Or should I replace all from the first? The year isn't visible from the front on the new ones. Either way I go has a downside. All new then 1,2,3 won't have the correct year. Keep current & add new then the entire set will have the correct years, but won't match. Hmmmmmmmmmm

Hi Jojo3D OH MY, last year's change in the "Child's Age Collection" ornaments has created lots of confusion. The Puppy's (& Kittens) Child's 2,3,4,& 5th that were offered last year WERE NOT DATED. The idea was that anyone that had that collection started for their child/grandchild could buy the rest of the child's group last year and then present them each Holiday thru the Child's 5th. Many did buy them and created quite a shortage especially of the Child's 5th. While others didn't understand that 2007 would be the last chance to buy them in a Hallmark store, and thus, will find out this year. We have been sold out of the 07 Child's 5th, but did get a few in today...so at this moment have ALL the 2007 Child's ornaments available on our site hookedonhallmark.com . So, if you decide you would like to finish off the set with the Puppy's that is another option. I'm sure the little guy will love his ornaments regardless of the option you choose!

I sure didn't know they were going away! I'll ask his mom, but I am really leaning towards the new ones. That does explain why the dog/cat ones sold so well last year. When they had done so poorly the previous years. Too bad for me I didn't put the two things together.
