Hi William, In the early years (1970's) Merry Miniature Figurines did not have the gold stickers. They were packaged in a clear Cello sealed package. Inside the package was a "postage stamp" size white tag which included the Hallmark logo, the retail price followed by merry miniature stock number, and often the words "Made in Hong Kong". The secondary market value on the older MM's that are still sealed in the package with the enclosed tag is higher.
There were exceptions to the types of packaging used....for example, The 1982 Cake Toppers were in a cello- sealed package with a clear top & lower 1/2 box They came complete with candles and small candle holders. The 1983 Cupid was package in a box with its cloud base.
I believe gold stickers on the bottom of the little figures were first used in 1980.
I must admit, I've focused much more on ornaments than Merry Miniatures over the years. Perhaps some avid Merry Miniature collectors will have more info to share with us here. Happy Collecting, Nicki
