OH MY...How Fun! Thank you KCCPURSUIT for posting the "sneak peak" of the 2008 Dream Book! I know it takes time to take photos of the book and then put them together for all of us to view. WE REALLY APPRECIATE THAT! Also a special thanks to collector Els Garcia, as I believe she took the photos of this "sample copy" Dream book at the Flamingo Fling this weekend.
As you may know, the Flamingo Fling in Tampa, FL was held Friday and yesterday. For those that may not be familiar with the fling, it is a secondary market event that raises money for Southeastern Guide Dogs. The local Hallmark Collectors club that Clara Johnson Scroggins founded sponsors the event. Clara is able to persuade companies and manufacturers to participate alongside secondary market dealers for a great weekend event. At the Fling, companies debut new items, bring artists to sign collectibles, and meet collectors.
Although Hallmark does not sponsor the Fling, they do send a representative, and a "sample copy" of the new Dream book as well of a few prototypes of the new line of ornaments. Thus, that is how this SNEAK PEAK info was obtained.
Again, my thanks to Marc and Els for making it available to all of us! Nicki

I think I see a road trip coming up in September to go to the closest signing event. I love that series so I must get that complimentary piece. Deana

While the Flamingo Fling in Florida was originally founded and sponsored by the Hallmark collectors club that Clara belongs to, I believe that changed a number of years ago. Technically it has been sponsored by something called the "Flamingo Fling committee" for a number of years now (I attended in 2000 through 2003 and was told this then.). Of course, some of the members of this committee (a friend of mine is on the committee) may be members of the club, it's not the club that sponsors it anymore.

A hallmark newsletter said that Ken Crow would have mechanical ornaments based on his toy work this year. Are they shown? I couldn't find anything really that looked like this toys.

The 6 ornaments inspired by McClinkencog's Toyshoppe (a collection of 16 marvelous machines, mechanical toys and marionettes that were created by Ken Crow during his sabbatical in 2006) are called Spin-A-Majigs. Here are pictures of all 6 Spin-A-Majigs.

I also enjoyed gazing at the pictures, wondering which ones I will buy. Can't wait for my copy to arrive.

Thanks! I saw those but was thinking they would look more old-world like what he did on sabbatical. Can't wait to see what they do!!
