While working on today's blog article I found out about Timely Treasure's Local Club Challenge and thought I would do my part to spread the word....

Happy Hallmark 100th Anniversary! Our local club here in Danville, Timely Treasures, sent a letter to Hallmark concerning our community service ideas to celebrate their 100th anniversary and received a nice reply with a request to keep them updated on our plans.
The one of most interest was my husband, Herb's idea. Timely Treasures is challenging local clubs to donate $100 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in honor of Hallmark's 100th anniversary. Our goal is have 100 clubs contribute. We also ask that any club answering the challenge, please email us and let us know.
We're going to keep a spreadsheet so Hallmark will know how well the contributions are going. Since October is breast cancer awareness month, we'd like to have our goal of 100 clubs giving $100 each by the end of October. If we surpass our goal by clubs, time, or dollars - all the better.
We all have family and or friends impacted by this disease. Bulletin board readers can help by emailing me their geographic clubs' contact names and contact information, or pass it along for consideration and voting if interested.
Participating clubs may mail in a check or contribute to Susan G Komen online:
Donations (choose In Honor of and use Hallmark's 100th Birthday or Anniversary)
and donate online at ww5.komen.org:80/donate/donate.html
or mail your donation to:

P. O. Box 650309

We have other projects planned through out the year and we are looking forward to celebrating Hallmark in a unique way in 2010.

Many thanks!
