We are often asked about the paint on the 1982 Tin Locomotive. The way that the train is painted there is an area at the top that is often questioned by collectors. The paint in this area is thin, but all of the 1982 Tin Locomotives are painted in this way.
Here's a pic -
Notice how the paint "spray" seems to lessen in the center. This is normal and how they are all painted.
