We recently purchased a collection from a retired Hallmark Keepsakes Employee. WHAT FUN...There have been SEVERAL SURPRISE PROTOTYPES: * A 1974 Betsey Clark Ball prototype. The white ball is hard plastic rather than glass. * A hand painted prototype of the #1 Reindeer Champs, Dasher * Two hand painted stocking hanger prototypes. * A cute little snowman that was never produced...I hope we can find out the "scoop" on him!
AND several more... We'll take pictures and post them on the blog soon...
I find prototypes fascinating. These one-of-a-kind ornaments are so hard to come by. Thus finding one is always exciting!
Anyone reading here collect prototypes?

Hey Nikki! I am a big prototype collector myself. Just bought a huge lot of prototypes from a ex-hallmark employee. Some great rare hallmark prototypes in the lot. Even a frosty friends Prototype from 1982

BTW- I know you have talked about them before Mini Memories....well FYI, Mini Memories use to come in a cute small box. I noticed in your selection of them, it says came without a box. Ill try to get a picture of the box.

Rhonda just posted an article on the blog about a newly found Hallmark Ornament Prototype. Lots of pictures....take a look hookedonornaments.com and click on the blog link on the right side. Do you find prototypes as interesting as I do?
