I've got some ornaments that I've picked up over the years that I've decided I don't want any more. Some of them have damaged boxes and some don't have the boxes (I bought some groups of decorations and these ornaments were included with other things).
If I were to look at what ornaments are valued at in a price guide or sales on eBay, I don't know how much to adjust the price for the damaged box or no box at all.
Is there kind of a general rule of thumb for a percentage you'd take off for the damaged box or no box? I know that if you tell people to make an offer that you'll get something that is so low you want to laugh out loud, and while I can use a good chuckle now and then I'd rather not set myself up for it.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Nancy, In general terms, we normally price the no box ornaments $10-20 less than mint in box. Much depends on how high the value of the ornament is, a lower valued ornament would be devalued less than an expensive one. As for Damaged box, normally about $5-10. below that of mint in box, but again, that can vary depending on again how highly valued the ornament is. For example the spread would be considerably more on a highly valued #1 Frosty Friends ornament vs an ornament that sells mint in box for $10-$20.
Hope this information helps!
