QUESTION:Back in 1989 I heard that some of the Teacher ornaments were recalled. In fact some of the stores I visited in my sales area which included 6 stores had already pulled the ornaments.

The reason I was told was that someone noticed that the writing in the book (written by the mouse) was upside down to the mouse, on some of the ornaments and turned towards the mouse on the others (of course it would or should be turned towards the mouse while it was being written.)

I am curious about the so called recall of the 1989 teacher ornaments but couldn't find any mention of this event anywhere. Do you have any knowledge of such a thing, or ever hear rumor of such? I have some done both ways so I know they got produced both ways. It looks like the one pictured on your site is backwards. Thank for any light you can shed on this matter.

You are correct, some were made with the book text facing the mouse, and others with the text going the other way. I don't know that they were "recalled", but do agree that they were produced two ways.

We don't see much demand for the ornament with or without the error. Thus, we don't differentiate between the two on the site.
