As the owner of Hooked on Ornaments, I'm often asked.
Do you buy ornaments?
Yes, we buy ornaments, lots of them...but certainly not all that are offered to us.
We are most interested in collections that contain "high demand" ornaments. Series ornaments such as, Frosty Friends, Puppy Love, Mary's Angels, Mischievous Kittens, Beauty & The Birds,Lighthouse Greetings, Nostalgic Houses, Crayola, as well as Colorway, Magic and harder-to-find ornaments.
We are the least interested in collections where the more valuable ornaments have already been sold or where the asking price is close (and sometimes above) our selling prices.
The price we are willing/able to pay is not based on the original box price, or a percentage of book value. It is based on our inventory levels, the demand for that particular ornament, as well as the current market selling price. We do offer what we consider to be a fair price on all collections of which we have an interest, but do keep in mind that we must allow for our overhead expenses, the discounts & promotions that we offer, and a reasonable profit.
I apologize that I cannot give you more specific information, but every collection is different, and I evaluate them one by one.
