I was paging thru the current (Feb/March) Hallmark magazine that I just received in the mail and I found something surprising and exciting!!
Back in October, on my birthday (10-18) to be exact, I got an email from Hallmark magazine, asking for my answer to their latest request for submissions for the Reader Panel that I belong to. I knew my answer immediately and wrote them back right away. I figured if they liked it, they would email me, to let me know they were going to print it.
Well, I never heard anything from them and didn't give it any more thought, until I received the latest issue. When I got to Page 27, I was surprised to see the topic, "Playlist Cooking Tunes", 2 condensed sentences selected from my answer to them (my answer was 6 sentences long), along with my name, city and state!!
Has anyone else here gotten anything published (not counting Nicki's books), especially in Hallmark Magazine? If so, what was it and did they let you know before it came out?
The last time I had something published in a major magazine, a few years back (Disney News Magazine, no longer published, unfortunately), they sent me an email, to let me know they were going to use a copy of my old time "Fun Foto" B&W photo taken at Disneyland and the write-up that went with it. In real mail, they sent me 3 issues of the magazine for free!

Hi Karen, CONGRATULATIONS on having your comments published....how exciting!
I received my Hallmark Magazine a few days ago, but hadn't taken the time to enjoy it yet.
After reading your post...I had to peak...and right there you are... on page 27! I can only imagine your surprise when you stumbled across it!
I'll bet your "Big Chill Grandma's Lasagna" is the best!
