I'm months behind in my Hallmark reading! I just now learned on another board that there will be a surprise guest at the sale. I won't ask who it is cause I guess I won't hear an answer with it being a surprise. Will this guest sign too?
I have hopes to see you there, but I won't know until later this week if I can go.

Hi Oldsthallmark, Our SURPRISE GUEST...is still sculpting ornaments for Hallmark & is under contract, so he will not be signing. HOWEVER, he is excited to meet with collectors and share his wealth of knowledge of the ornaments. He will conduct a HM ornament "Antique Road Show" identifying and talking about HM collectibles that collectors have brought in. As well as answering questions that anyone may have about ornaments. For example, he explained to me "why magic ornaments aren't designed to be repairable". Hope you can make it, we'd love to have you join us! Nicki |

 Nicki, I'm so sad I won't be able to see your wharehouse! I tried hard to get someone to drive down with me but nobody bit. One friend was intrigued but since she had seen Joyce Lyle earlier this year she said it depended on your surprise guest and not knowing for sure who it was she wasn't up to the gas money of going. I wish you a wonderful saturday and know I'm with you in spirit! Please put up a lot of pictures!

Can you tell us now who it was now? With your description I'm guessing it was Ken Crow?
Do you have an opening the weekend after thanksgiving? I know for sure I'll be in Kansas city there to get the mayors ornament.

We had a GREAT EVENT on Saturday....wish you all could have come!
Hallmark Artist,LYNN NORTON was our SURPRISE GUEST. Lynn worked for for Hallmark for 41 years, and although considered "retired" now, he still sculpts the Star Trek, Star Wars and Sky's the Limit ornaments. He shared lots of Ornament Trivia with us...I don't think there was anything that happened in Keepsakes that he wasn't involved in. I was busy helping customers most of the time, so didn't get to listen in as much as I'd like...but I know many collectors were able to enjoy his fun stories and vast understanding of Hallmark Ornaments. Even Lynn's wife is a Hallmark Ornament expert, in that she worked for Hallmark creating the text for the Dream Book and the backs of zillions of ornament boxes!
Joyce Lyle signed ornaments until I thought her pen might go dry. She is such a nice lady & lots of fun.
Collectors also snapped up hundreds of bargains.
And I believe/hope a good time was had by all.

Hi Oldsthallmark, Sorry you couldn't make it to the sale this time would have loved it if you could have joined us! We will have another event in April..and hope to set that date soon. Ed Seale has agreed to do a signing at our Warehouse next time he's in Kansas City...just don't have a date on that yet...so stay tuned! Hope you can make it in April ! |
