The 2007 Candy Cane Lane ornament captures the fun of a favorite Holiday Activity for many of us, driving slowly through a "Candy Cane Lane" decorated neighborhood and enjoying the Christmas lights and deocrations.With this ornament, visit each of the three houses on the street by turning the triangle shaped ornament from one side to the next. Press the peppermint candy button below each home. Each house will play a song, and as the songs play three cars travel around the block. MORE TRIVIA...

In 1994 the Lion King Magic Ornament
Simba Sarabi and Mufasa
was first issued with light and music...

However, it was quickly pulled from the line and re-issued with light only.

Rumor had it that the sound quality was poor and thus the remake...

We've learned that the REAL REASON was that licensing for the music had not been obtained from Elton John!

Yes, it's true.

The UL safety regulations REQUIRE that Hallmark design them to be sealed and non-repairable.

Guess "tinkering" with them could create safety problems on your tree!

HOW FUNNY is this one!

The 1994 Beatles ornaments had to be licensed and approved by the Beatles before the set could be issued.

Just one problem...The Beatles shuttered at the thought of "hooks" being in their heads!

Thus the ornament round hook rings were changed from gold to silver.
And they were finally convinced that the silver loop blended in with their dark hair so well, that it was hardly noticeable!

CAN YOU BELIEVE...

Most Hallmark ornaments are made of the art-plas (plastic) material, and many are considered "hand crafted".

OFTEN there are dozens parts for just one ornament, and they are literally "hand assembled" much like building a model airplane!

I guess that is why I've always marveled at the workmanship and detail!

Joyce Lyle told several of us while signing a Miss Gulch (Wizard of Oz) ornament that sculpting that ornament was a real challenge. Each piece had to be designed separately, and she didn't see all of the pieces together until the ornament was done. She had to hope that everything was done on the same scale so that it would fit together and look right together once all of the pieces were their final sizes. When she started to tell the story, the other person asked her if the problem was because the wheels move but she said that wasn't it.

Ken Crow's favorite ornament is 1995's "Our Little Blessings." He was inspired to base this ornament on his children after finding a family photo that was about a hundred years old at the time. He wanted to have something that would be around a long time like that photo, so he created that one. When I had him sign one of my "Our Little Blessings" he asked my husband to take a picture of him with it. I also got a picture of him with it, too.

The 2002 "A Time to Believe" has Ken Crow's children, daughter Michelle and son Jason, along with the family dog Trusty.

1999's Spring Chick is the only blown glass spring/Easter ornament.
